Burger Inspector ’94: Cheese Edition is an experimental narrative game in which the player embodies a quality assurance worker at a fast food company. Their task is to inspect a single burger, but what begins as a typical work shift soon turns surreal, existential, and slightly horrific. Linking various ideas such as the body, consciousness, and consumption, Burger Inspector ’94 seeks to highlight the violence and oppression intrinsic to capitalist economies. Furthermore, this title situates itself among growing niche genres such as workplace and interface horror.
